Quick Cash Tips

Earn Money Using Twitter

Twitter is the next big thing. Every single day, thousands of new people are signing up and are getting a good number of followers.Twitter, can be used to generate a few dollar’s with every tweet.

There are three main ways you can earn with Twitter:

Direct Advertisers Contact You or You Contact Them

I once received a mail, in which someone wanted to advertise some services. They were ready to pay 10$ per tweet (I had 2,000 followers then).

Similarly, you can contact people who provide some service and strike a deal with them or wait till someone contacts you.

*By the way, I did not take the offer as I found out those people were not very honest and I did not want to promote such a service to my followers*

Be-a-Magpie

Be-a-Magpie, popularly known as Magpie, is the most popular way people are using to earn on Twitter. Magpie gets you advertisers and tweets using your account. It is a simple advertiser and publisher network which pays upto $100/tweet(depending on your follower count). @sensonize, a friend of mine who uses this service, gets $4.5/tweet. He has 1700 followers.

If you have 500 followers, one tweet can instantly get you 1.5$.

TwittAd

TwittAd is a service in which someone buys an ad-spot on your Twitter account- They buy your Twitter background for a certain period of time. The rates range from 0.03$ - 0.10 per follower, per month, it depends on the advertiser.

I have covered the three main ways you can earn using Twitter. As I said above, even a simple tweet can get you a few dollars.

Have you used any of these methods? Do you like the concept of advertising via Twitter? Feel free to comment below.

Although these services are nice and work quite well, I am a bit skeptical on how they will affect the trust between the user and followers. One who follows somebody believes in what he recommends. But when he is paid for this, won’t it cause distrust?

Anyways, I am sure this model can be taken up ahead and molded in a more righteous manner. Twitter, on the other hand, can also introduce advertising for users’ pages in which the user can earn money, and twitter can also take up some share.

I already knew about the services, but I am sure other readers will like your review and try them out.

Thanks Farrhad :) Great posts coming up :D

Be-A-Magpie is a unique concept, would have thought they’re paying well over the odds for that! When I flipped a Twitter related sites I bought some Tweets and paid $1 for 2 tweets from someone with over 5,000 followers!

Although, I do agree that these paid services should be taken with a pinch of salt. I’d rather I contribute something meaningful to a conversation rather than spam the site with advert tweets.

I had signed up with magpie sometime back but opted out of it within a day. $1.5 per tweet is a huge money but I don’t think I wanna do something like that, Twitter is much more than making money :)

MagPie sounds like a really useful system. They just pay based on number of followers? It’s not all that difficult to get followers if you really get down to it.

I don’t like the tinyurls and other URL shortners on twitter, I wonder how many people actually click on twitter links.

Has anyone taken into consideration what one’s followers will feel like if one starts putting up some sort of commercial solicitation within one’s Tweets?

Commercial tweets are not subtle, they are very in-your-face. Be mindful, that your followers don’t start un-following you because of getting a little wary/uncomfortable with the idea of adverts within tweets.

    Just my take on it….

There are other websites like linkbee and Adjix which also pay for shortening your URL.
They show a strip of ad at the top of page and user get paid when one click on them.
The payout seems to be good..Though I personally never used it because people might end up calling it a spam link.

But if someone who tweets a lot..and great number of followers, it can be a great strategy to make money online.

Hmm, I suppose it depends on who is actually following you. If you just have a load of crap users who don’t pay any attention to your tweets, what’s the use in being there?

If you look at my Twitter profile then you’ll see I have less than 20 followers and if I’m honest I’m happy about this as it means I can spend more time connecting with them and building quality relationships.
